The Department of Pediatrics at the Prince County Hospital has a locum opportunity available from January 1– December 31, 2020 to provide support to complete a complement of three specialists.  These specialist positions provide consultative services to family physicians in the Western region of PEI for patients up to 16 years of age. Located in Summerside, the Prince County Hospital is a 110-bed regional hospital with a six bed ICU that provides specialty services in Internal Medicine, General Surgery, Anesthesia, Obstetrics/Gynecology, Pediatrics, ENT and Psychiatry. As well, there are 8 pediatric beds and a 4-bed Level 2 NICU, caring for newborns 34 weeks and above.
This hospital is operated by Health PEI, a crown corporation responsible for the delivery of publicly funded health services in Prince Edward Island.

Remuneration:

The physician shall have the option of choosing fee-for-service or contract for service payment modality.
•    Contract for service range $130.65 – $149.52 per hour (Depending on experience).
•    On call services are paid on a fee for service basis over and above the hourly contract for service rate.
•    There is also an additional stipend for on call services.
•    Fee for service rates are based on the tariff of fees listed in the Master Agreement.
