Nephrologist

This Regional Health Authority is currently recruiting one nephrologist. The Centre has 313 beds with a busy ER and a 9-bed ICU providing care to medical and surgical patients.
Diagnostic Services include Radiology, Ultrasound, CT, MRI, and Nuclear Medicine. Internal Medicine programs include Dialysis, Chemotherapy, Neurology, Clinical Neurophysiology, Cardiology, Respirology, Gastroenterology and Rheumatology. There are over 100 physicians, including family physicians and specialists, with admitting privileges at the health centre, and numerous medical clinics located throughout the city.
Required qualifications
 FRCPC or eligibility for Royal College of Canada certification
 Current eligibility for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba
 Additional certification in nephrology

Job description
The primary role of the nephrologist would be to share responsibilities with the lone nephrologist currently practicing in the city and deliver the following services: Develop a consultant internal medicine practice
 Provide service to the dialysis unit currently serving 74 patients
 Participate in on-call roster for Renal unit (dialysis)
 Participate in the Pre-Renal Clinic involving 175 patients in stages 3 – 5 of Chronic Kidney Disease
Remuneration
Remuneration will be fee-for-service with additional Sessional rate for being on call, paid in accordance with the Medical Association and Manitoba Health and Healthy Living collective agreement.
